Hardback. One of Mr Surtees best works according to the publisher. Handsomely bound in half-red leather with red cloth boards. Gilt detail and titles between five raised bands to the spine. The binding is in very good condition with the leather and cloth still rich and vibrant. The top edge of the text block is gilt and still bright while the fore edge is untrimmed. Light red and grey marbled endpapers which are free of any bookplates or inscriptions. The pages are generally very clean although lightly toned with the occasional thumb mark throughout, illustrated with 12 hand-coloured plates. pp. 519 + 24. A beautiful copy.
