St Marys Books

First Edition in book form, previously published as a monthly serial. Beautifully bound in rich half red leather with red marble paper covered boards. The binding is generally in good condition with the leather still fairly bright despite light sunning to the spine. There is a little surface wear to the boards and a little loss to the extremities. Light lean to the spine. Internally the binding is tight. There is a previous owner's signature to the front free endpaper and light pencil notation to one of the prelims. The pages are generally clean although there is heavy foxing/toning to most of the plates. The illustrations are by H.K. Browne. pp. xvi + 624. Overall a handsome copy.
