First Edition Hardback. Bound in the publisher's dark blue cloth with gilt titles to the spine. The cloth is generally in good condition despite a little wear to the corners, the spine has faded with slight discolouration, fraying to the top and base. The top edge of the text block is gilt and still fairly bright while the fore edge is untrimmed. Previous owners' large ink inscription to the front free endpaper. There is some foxing to the prelims and towards the rear with the occasional spot of foxing throughout. Minor pencil notation although the pages are generally clean, illustrated. pp. xxii + 384. Overall a good copy.
