Designed to Improve the Soil and the Mind, and to Elevate the Character and Standing of the Cultivators of the American Soil. Cult. Vol IX runs from January 1842 to December 1842. Vol. V runs from March 1838 to February 1839. Bound in half leather with marble boards. Gilt titling to black label band on spine. Boards and spine rubbed and bumped with scuffing and loss, corners bumped, marble boards scratched. Binding is tight and appears to be complete for the two separate volumes. Contents are browned throughout and the volume has been used to press leaves in the past. pp 200 + 220.
