Polished wooden boards, photographic image imprinted to front board, cloth spine. Gilt tooling and titles to the spine. A pretty, unusual binding, unfortunately front board and pages up to and including frontispiece detached from spine and contents. Spine and rear board also detached from contents. Undated. Includes 11 sepia original photographs including frontispiece. Black and white engraved vignette illustrations by John Gilbert and Birket Foster. Includes Scott's introduction dated 1830. Some light foxing in places, particularly endpapers. All edges gilt. 339pp.
