Hardback. Handsomely bound in qurater red leather with red cloth sides, gilt titles and decoration to the spne. All edges are marbled. There are two volumes bound into one, , Little Folks: A magazine for the young, pp. 428. Volume two, PP, 427 plus The House of Suprises being the "Little Folks" Annual for 1888 by L. T. Meade, with a frontispiece in colours by Alice Havers, and twenty-four illustrations by Walter Paget also included to rear of book. Illustrated with cromo-lithograph plates and full page b/w plates plus numerous other drawings. Artists include W. Rainey, H. Coppiny, Alice Havers and more. The pages are clean throughout despite some foxing. Overall a very good copy, beautifully illustrated.
