Paperback. Circa 1860's. A rare and unusual item, hand produced, thought to be a mock-up of a title that was to be published by S.O. Beeton. The book consists of several pages of paper hand-sewn together with each page containing paper clippings and several handwritten notes to the margins. The notes are thought be from S.O. Beeton himself. The binding is loose with a tape repair and foxing to the front. The pages within are generally clean despite the occasional spot of foxing. This book comes complete with a bespoke burgundy cloth slipcase. The slipcase is in very good condition with titles in gilt to the spine. A fascinating item.
