Hardback. First Edition. A four volume set of William Hazlitt's "The Life of Napoleon Buonaparte". Handsomely bound in half tan leather with marble paper covered boards. Blind embossed tooling, gilt decoration and a brown leather title band between four raised bands to the spines. The binding is in good condition despite a little surface wear. Marbled endpapers with bookplate to the front paste down on volume I, two to volumes II to IV. Text block tight with no loose pages. Errata slip to volume IV. The pages are clean throughout despite the occasional spot of foxing, especially to the prelims and towards the rear. Volume I, pp. viii + 535. Volume II, pp. 275. Volume III, pp. 551. Volume IV, p. 608. Overall a very good scarce edition.
