Hardback. A lovely copy of Anna Sewell's only published novel. The cloth boards with floral pictorial detail to the front and spine are a little worn with bumping to the corners. Slight lean to the spine. Binding a little weak. Small neat pencil signature to the half title page and the occasional thumb mark throughout. The pages, however, are generally clean. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, and several illustrations throughout, vignette to the title page and to each chapter heading. pp. 238 + 20. Overall a good copy. Considered to be one of the best selling novels for children.
