Hardback First Edition. The dust jacket with a beautifully illustrated front cover is in good conditon despite some edge wear, light chipping to the top and base of the spine. Underneath lie turquoise cloth boards, beautifully illustrated to the front with character illustration to the rear. The binding despite a little fading to the spine is clean and generally in good condition. The pages within are lightly toned with a thumb mark or two to the title page and the very occasional spot of foxing, although generally clean. Illustrated with a full page colour frontispiece and several line drawings throughout. pp. 127. BB's charming story of gnomes who build a light railway to help with their mining.
