Hardback. A beautiful copy with illustrations by Birket Foster. Bound in rich green leather with ornate gilt decoration to the boards and spine. All edges gilt with inner gilt dentelles. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece and vignette to the title page with several other engraved plates throughout. The binding is in good condition with the gilt still bright and clean, tiny marks to the front board. The spine has darkened a little and shows minor rubbing and wear. Two of the plates together with their tissue guards are loose while the tissue guards of two other plates are loose the plates are present. There is slight discolouration to the prelims and to the rear endpapers although the pages throughout remain clean. pp. viii + 456. Overall a good copy.
