This being the red bound edition of the 1st edition with no preference give, complete with adverts to the rear. Gilt lettering to the spine, endpapers, the binding is a little weak, with some spotting to the front cover. 292 pp. [viii] With 8 pages of adverts to the rear, 5R-1083. with black & white frontispiece map. Overall, a good copy of this famous work of Children's literature which gave the world the Pirate as is now known in modern literature "with the use of X-marks the spot. With foxing throughout the book and some small white spots to the front board, this is a good copy, it is complete and ideal for the collector of Robert Louis Stevenson. Treasure Island was issued in a print run of only 750 copies, this is the true 1st Uk edition of what is regarded as a seminal work of literature by Robert Louis Stevenson, with the use of Pirates and treasure a true adventure story for young people.
