Four volumes of Hugh Walpole's finest works bound in uniform pink-red leather with decorative gilt to front and spine, titles also in gilt to spine. Front boards and spines of all volumes also show the author's initials in gilt. Top edge of textblock of all volumes gilt. Spines lightly faded but bindings all in good condition with minimal wear.

Rogue Herries (1930, dedicated to A Trusted Friend and in Love of Cumberland) pp. xii + 736, with marbled endpapers, front board slightly loose from ffep.

Judith Paris (1931, with dedication to J. B. Priestley) pp. xiv + 757, with maps of the Lake District and a family tree as a fold-out to the rear. Also with marbled pink endpapers, matching binding.

The Fortress (1932, for Gertrude and Muirhead Bone) pp. x + 811, has endpapers depicting the Lake District, with fold-out family tree to rear.

Vanessa (1933, dedicated to Erik Palmstierna) pp. xii + 851, also has endpapers depicting the Lake District, with fold-out family tree to the rear.

Overall this lovely set provides four out of six books of the Herries Chronicle in good condition.
