In the original Latin. First edition with all four books bound into one. Contemporary pigskin over wooden boards, five raised bands with handwritten titles to the spine. Both boards feature blind tooled centre medallions with decorative borders. Metal and leather clasps remain, although one is partly detached. The front paste-down shows some of the wood boards beneath while the half title and title page exhibit a little wear with small holes off to the margin edges. The title page is printed in red and black with a coat of arms at the base. The title pages thereafter are printed in black. Decorative initial letters. In very good condition with a little staining to the pigskin. The front outer hinge has slightly cracked although the front board remains quite firm. Scattered foxing and a little staining throughout. Otherwise a very good copy. Tobias Lohner was an Austrian Jesuit Theologian with his reputation based mainly on the many works he wrote, especially on asceticism and moral theology.
