This stunning hardback edition of "Greater Magic: A Practical Treatise on Modern Magic" by John Northern Hillard is bound in a bright crimson cloth with gilt lettering and illustrations to the spine and cover. The cover depicts a magician in flames holding staff above his head, and the spine's illustration is three simple cups and balls. This impeccable presentation continues inside the book, which features a playful mixture of red and black ink for titles and other decorations. This book features 1007 pages of text, the instructional content of which is perfectly complimented by Harlan Tarbell's 1150 black ink illustrations which are peppered throughout. This book is in great condition despite its age, and has some lovely contemporary features, such as being printed "in compliance with the regulations of the War Production Board", as well as a call for the author to be hung if he has unduly miscredtied any magicians.
