This hardback edition of "Magic: A Collection of Practical Effects all of which have been tried and tested" is looking for a new home. Written by William Mayoh (who went by the stage name and persona of "Ho Yam") is not only an instructive book of magic, but a primary source for American racial attitudes and orientalism in the early 20th century. This blue clothbound book has black ink lettering to the cover and spine, and contains 137 pages of text, peppered with illustrated photographs by the author himself. This book is in good condition despite its age, it ha some small scuffs, some fading, and some foxing. This book would make for a lovely gift for any American social historian, or for any budding magic enthusiast.
