Hardback. A beautiful collection of Christina Rossetti's poems enhanced with the stunning colour plates of Florence Harrison. This copy is the first trade edition. The cream cloth boards are adorned with art nouveau gilt decoration to the front and spine, in keeping with Christina Rossetti's style of poetry. Top edge gilt while the fore-edge is untrimmed. In very good condition with the binding showing only minimal wear, although discoloured in places. The spine has darkened with a little fraying to the top and base. There is a previous owner's inscription to the front free endpaper dated xmas 1917. The pages are beautifully adorned with thirty six tipped in colour plates, each with their captioned tissue guard. Several line drawings throughout compliment the text. The pages are clean with only the very occasional thumb mark and spot of foxing. The text block is tight with no loose pages. xxi + 369. Some of the poems included in this volume are, Goblin Market, Dreamland, Fata Morgana, The Hour And The Ghost A Summer Wish, Winter Rain plus many more. Overall a beautiful copy.
