Hardback. A handsome copy bound in cream cloth with gilt titles and small gilt detail to the front all within a decorative gilt border. The binding is in good condition with just minor creasing to the lower corners. The spine has darkened over time with a little shelf wear to the top and base. The top edge is gilt and is still fairly bright. The pages are remarkably clean and beautifully illustrated with 16 tipped in colour plates, each with their tissue guard, plus several plates in monotone. xi + 182. A beautiful exploration of Kashmir in the beginning of the twentieth century. The author discusses many of the beauty spots of the region, illustrating the area in order to convey the charm of the country.
