Edition: Third Edition
Published By: T. C. & E. C. Jack
This lovely 1906 Third Edition of "Motors and Motoring" by Professor Henry J. Spooner of the London Polytechnic School of Engineering, is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. This hardback book is smartly bound in a rich blue cloth, and features black and white ink lettering, decorations, and a charming illustration of a motorcar to the cover. Inside, one finds 102 pages of text (including indicies) detailing the component parts and mechanisms of motorcars in such a way that someone with limited experience in the field could understand them. These descriptions are aided by lovely black ink illustrations, most of which are diagrammatic, though the frontispiece is a lovely image of a modern napier motorcar. This book is in good condition - though there is some fading to the spine, some bumping to the corners, offsetting and inscriptions to the front free endpapers, and some minor foxing throughout the book - all of this is fair for the age and rarity of this edition. This book is looking for a new home, and would be the perfect gift for any historical motorcar enthusiasts.
