The binding presents well despite bumping to the lower right hand corner of the front board and light bumping along the top edge. The spine has faded although the titles are still clear. No front endpapers with the List of Ace titles pasted to the verso of the front board. With a small neat inscription to the corner. New endpapers to the rear. Small neat inscription to the verso of the frontispiece. Illustrated with a full page colour frontipiece illustration with a further four plates in monochrome. All the plates are present although one is slightly loose. The pages are clean despite the very occasional thumb mark and spot of foxing. pp. 256. Overall a good copy of Captain W.E Johns only second Biggles book to be published.
