Edition: First
Illustrated By: George A. Oliver
Published By: B. T. Batsford Ltd.
This lovely 1956 first edition of "The Racing Car: Development & Design" is bound in navy cloth with gold gilt lettering and decorations to the spine and vover, including a small steering wheel. Inside, past the navy free endpapers that read "Batsford Book" one finds 288 pages of text including indices detailing the story of the development of the racing car itself, supplemented with black and white photographs and charming black ink illustrations by George A. Oliver. This book is in fair to good condition - though the spine is faded, the corners are bumped, and there are some stains on the cover, the interior remains clean and readable. This book is looking for a new home, and would make for a peprfect gift for any motoring enthusiast.
