Edition: First Edition

Published By: Sampson Low, Marston & Co., Ltd.

Hardback. Being the Eighth Year of Publication of Fred T. Janes influential aviation yearbook, this one published in 1917. Edited and Compiled by C.G. Grey. Part A. An Aeronautical Dictionary, And Memoranda, Part B. Aeroplanes Of The World, Part C. Airships Of The World ( Past and Present). Part D. Aero Engines Part E. Historical Aeroplanes Of The Last Fourteen years. A crucial wartime yearbook documenting the rapidly evolving world of aviation during World War I, featuring aircraft, aero engines, airships and historical sections. Bound in navy cloth with titles in silver to the front and spine, the cloth is a little worn to the extremities with discolouration to the rear and fading to the spine. The text block is a little weak but the pages remain quite firm. The front free endpaper has a section missing to the top right hand corner. The rest of the pages are clean and in good condition. Adverts of the time to the prelims and to the rear. Overall a very good clean copy. Scarce, and ideal for any aviation enthusiast.
