This book presents the results of wind tunnel tests carried out at the Auteuil laboratory between 1911 and 1913. With detailed studies on the drag of geometric shapes, wing profiles, propellers and model airplanes for aerodynamics. Providing reliable scientific data to improve aircraft design and understand drag phenomena. Part of the research is supplemented by an atlas of plates. This two volume set is handsomely bound in deep green cloth which shows just a little wear and fading. Internally the pages are clean despite a large neat inscription, dated 1916, to the front free endpaper to both volumes. Both books contain many diagrams and black and white images, with a loose graph inserted into the Text Volume. The Atlas volume contains thirty nine interesting plates to the rear, with an extra loose plate of number thirty nine. All plates are in in very good condition. These books are a major historical reference in the field of experimental aerodynamics. A must for any aviation fan. French Text.
