This book chronicles the pioneering 1935 North Haven expedition, which established the first commercial air route across the Pacific Ocean. Detailing the challenges of building, equipping and operating remote air bases across the Pacific to enable Trans-Pacific air travel. A good copy, despite a worn dust jacket, with tape repair to the underside. The red cloth boards have faded, especially to the base of the spine.Internally there is surface wear and a little discolouration to the end-papers. The rest of the pages are very clean, illustrated with several black and white photographic images, including frontispiece. pp. x + 205. A must for any aviation fan.
