Hardback. A First Edition copy recounting the journey of Ray Parer and John MacIntosh, who completed the first single-engine flight from England to Australia in a salvaged Airco DH-9 IN 1920. With Raymond Parer's signature to the frontispiece and facsimile signature to the base of the foreword. This book also contains a hand written letter dated 1934.."Three Days before the start of the England Australian Air Race..." and signed by Ray Parer and Godfrey Hemsworth. Bound in the publisher's original brown cloth with titles and small pictorial in black to the front with new end-papers. Illustrated with a black and white frontispiece and several more plates throughout. This copy is in good condition despite slight discolouration and fading to the binding. The text block is tight and the pages are clean. pp. 352. Overall a good copy of a scarce title especially one with a signature and letter of the author. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
