Hardback. The First English Edition Translated by Jan Noble. Hans Bertram's true account of a 53 day survival ordeal along with his mechanic Adolf Klausmann when their Junkers W33D seaplane crashed off the Kimberley coast in Australia in 1932. The pair endured starvation, dehydration and mental anguish before being rescued by Indigenous Australians. This copy is complete with a pictorial dust jacket which despite a little edge wear is in good condition. There is a little tape repair underneath the dust jacket along the top edge of the spine. Underneath lie lightly faded black cloth boards. The pages within are clean despite the occasional spot of foxing, illustrated with several black and white photographic plates. pp. 286. Overall a very good copy of a scarce title.
