Hardback. A 1946 First Edition complete with dust jacket and signed by the author to the frontispiece. This book starts with the author's first balloon ascent and ends with his return from America in a Liberator Bomber in 1941. A fascinating account of one of the major forces in the development of modern aviation. The white pictorial dust jacket is a little discoloured with a few closed tears to the extremities. While underneath lie bright and clean blue cloth boards with gilt titles to the spine. Internally the pages are very clean and illustrated with several black and white photographic plates. pp. 170. Overall a very good copy, scarce to find with a signature. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
