Hardback. Translated by Claud W. Sykes. Haupt Heydemarck account of flying with his pilot partner "Take" Engmann in the early days of combat flying giving a lively account of the often hair raising incidents that happened, such as freezing bombs caught in their release mechanism, machine guns that jam in the cold and blinding searchlights at night. Overall a good copy complete with it's pictorial dust jacket. Underneath lie bright red cloth boards while internally the pages are illustrated with line drawings, photographic plates and a folding map to the rear. The dust jacket is worn especially to the extremities with a previous owner's signature to the front free endpaper and the occasional spot of foxing. The pages otherwise are very clean. pp. viii + 207 + 3. Overall a good copy, an ideal addition to any aviation enthusiast.
