Housed in its original dustjacket featuring a stunning original painting by Marc Henry Meunier presented to the Baroness in 1916, this hardback book is bound in blue cloth with a red title band and gold gilt lettering. Inside, one finds 221 pages of text, supplemented by lovely contemporary black and white photographs and other images, including the frontispiece, a charming sketch of the Baroness drawn by Matania. This book, which offers the memoirs of the remarkable life of the Baroness - a decorated WW1 British nurse, a member of the Women's R. A. F., and a talented motorcyclist. This copy is in very good condition with few notable blemishes other than that the spine and back of the dustjacket have yellowed and there is some minor offsetting to the back free endpaper. "Flanders and Other Fields" is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any lover of memoirs filled with adventure.
