The Defence of London

A. Rawlinson

Edition: Third Edition

Published By: Andrew Melrose Ltd.

St Mary's Books is proud to present this December 1924 third edition of "The Defence of London 1915-1918" by A. Rawlinson C. M. G., C. B. E., D. S. O., in remarkably good condition. Housed in is original dustjacket featuring a blue and yellow ink graphic illustration of the air raids from London, this hardback book is bound in olive green cloth with black ink lettering. Inside, one finds i-xiii and 267 pages of text detailing the story of the defence of London against Zeppelin and aeroplane raids during the First World War. This narrative is supplemented by contemporary black and white photographs and a fold-out map of London. This copy is in very good condition, with few notable blemishes other than some minor offsetting to the front free endpapers - remarkable for a book of this age and rarity. However, the original dustjacket can only be described as fair due to the significant losses it has sustained. "The Defence of London" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast or military historian.
