St Mary's Books is proud to present this English language edition of "Max Immelman: Eagle of Lille", a biography written by his brother Franz Immelman. Housed in its original pictorial dustjacket featuring a full-colour illustration of two aeroplanes dogfighting, this hardback book is bound in light blue cloth with gold gilt lettering to its spine. Inside, one finds i-xii, 223pp. and 40 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. This biography of the first German "ace" describing his experiences in the Army Cadet School and in the German Air Service, as well as giving an overview of the German Air Force, is peppered with contemporary black and white photographs setting the scene for the reader. This copy is in good condition - though the dustjacket is bumped and torn, and though there is some foxing throughout this book, it remains well preserved for a copy of this age and rarity. "Max Immelmann: Eagle of Lille" is looking for a new home and would make for a perfect gift for anyone hoping to better acquaint themselves with a personal history of the German Air Service.
