Hardback. Limited Edition of only 3200, these are number 3155. All four volumes are sumptuously bound in rich black cloth with ornate decal in silver to the front. Richly illustrated throughout with many photographic images, and a beautifully illustrated prelim. Overall a very good set in near pristine condition, with just minor bumping and wear to the binding, light mark to the rear of volume two. There is a neat inscription to the front free end-paper while the rest of the pages are very clean. Volume I, published 1980, pp. 596. Volume II, pp. 628. Volume III, pp. 376. Volume IV, pp. 392. An historical account documenting the treacherous World War II US Army Air Forces operation that flew over the Himalayan Mountains to supply China after the Burma Road was cut off.
