Hardback. A 1932 First Edition copy complete with it's dust jacket. This is a detailed account of a privately funded expedition to East Greenland led by Gino Watkins. As the expedition's ski expert and naturalist, Chapman provides a firsthand narrative of the team's efforts to map uncharted coastlines, study climate data, and test flying routes during the North Polar winter. This copy is complete with it's dust jacket, although it is worn with large parts missing. The blue cloth boards are in good condition despite fading to the spine. There is foxing to the prelims and occasionally throughout, although the pages are generally very clean. Illustrated with maps and 64 pages of plates. pp.xv + 304. Overall a good copy of classic Arctic exploration literature.
