Hardback. A 1930 First Edition copy. A collection of true stories about the Caterpillar Club, an informal association of people whose lives have been saved by a parachute after exiting a disabled aircraft. The author explains that the club was named after the silkworm, honoring the silk threads that were originally used to make the parachutes. This copy is complete with it's dust jacket although worn with pieces missing. Underneath lie blue cloth boards with titles and pictorial to the front and spine. There is some fading to the extremities and spine, although the binding still presents well. Presentation label dated 1931 to the front paste-down. The rest of the pages are very clean despite the very occasional thumb mark and spot of foxing, illustrated with several black and white photographic images. pp. pp. xiv + 321. A scarce title, rare complete with it's dust jacket. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
