Aircraft in War And Peace By William Alexander Robson, published in 1916, is a historical survey written during the early stages of World War I to explain the emerging role of aviation to the general public. This book aimed to dispel the fog of war by detailing how aircraft, then in their infancy, had already begun to revolutionise reconnaissance and combat. This copy is bound in brown cloth with printed titles and pictorial to the front and titles to the spine. Illustrated with a full page frontispiece and several more images throughout. Overall a good copy. The binding although faded to the spine does present well. While internally the text block is a little losse with cracking to the front internal hinge, showing the webbing underneath. Neat ink inscription dated 1919 to the front free endpaper, otherwise the pages are clean. pp. xi + 176 + 4. Part of a huge aviation collection recently acquired by St Marys Books.
