St Mary's books are pleased to offer 1st James Bond Novel. A very attractive second impression of Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, published only weeks after the legendary April 1953 first edition. Bound in the publisher’s original black cloth, spine lettered in red, with the heart-device motif in red to the front board — the same striking design as the first printing. The original dust jacket is present, unclipped and showing the printed price. Designed by the artist Ian Fleming himself, the jacket retains its strong red and black elements with the playing-card heart motif across the front panel. Second-impression jackets are notably scarce, as most were discarded when copies were read; surviving examples in collectible condition seldom appear on the market.
