Alison King

Edition: First Edition

Published By: C. Arthur Pearson Limited

Printed in 1956 this is a First Edition copy. This book is a first hand account of the pioneering female pilots who served during World War II. Written by Alison King, who served as the operations officer at the all female ATA ferry pool in Hamble. This book provides a unique perspective on their vital contributions to the war effort. Our copy is complete with an unclipped dust jacket over blue cloth boards. There is a little edge wear to the dust jacket although the binding underneath is in a very good clean condition. Ex-libris label to the front paste-down, and foxing to the prelims and occasionally throughout. Frontispiece portrait of some of the women of the ATA with several more plates throughout. pp. ix + 191. Overall a good copy and part of a huge aviation collection just acquired by St Marys Books.
