Hardback, 1939 First Edition. Written by Major Wilfred Theodore Blake who wrote under the pseudonym "Wing Adjutant" it provides a contemporary look at the Royal Air Force just as World War II was beginning. Major Blake was a significant figure in early aviation history, notably leading to the first attempt to fly around the world in 1922. This copy is bound in blue cloth which has faded with some discolouration. Pencil notation / signatures to the front end-papers and scattered foxing throughout. The pages, however, are generally clean, illustrated with several black and white photographic images. pp. 237. A scarce copy and part of a huge aviation collection.
