This lovely 1982 first edition of "Mammals in the British Isles" by L. Harrison Matthews forms part of the New Naturalist Collection and their survey of British natural history. Housed in its vibrant original blue dustjacket featuring a stunning illustration of ginger ferrets, this hardback book is bound in green cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine. Inside, one finds 207 pages of text featured alongside 16 stunning plates, each a black and white photograph of various British mammals. This copy, and its original dustjacket, are in very good condition, with only some minor white stains on the front boards to note, the copy remains clean, bright and readable. "Mammals in the British Isles" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any natural history enthusiast.
