This copy is a 1971 First Edition Presentation copy to Sir Douglas Bader, and is the autobiography of Australian aviator Sir Norman Bearley. The author was a central figure in Australian aviation history, widely regarded as the father of Australia's airline industry. He is most famous for founding Western Australian Airways ( WAA ) which in 1921 launched the country's first scheduled air service. Our copy is complete with its dust jacket which is in very good condition despite a little edge wear and light fading to the spine. There is a large inscription to the half title page signed on behalf of the staff of the Regency Park Centre May 1978, which starts "with sincere appreciation... ". The rest of the pages are very clean and illustrated with several black and white photographic images. pp. 204. Overall a very good copy and part of a huge aviation collection acquired by St Marys Books.
