A 1933 First Edition Copy. This copy comes complete with a loose letter dated 12th Dec. 1933 signed by the author. Through Russia By Air By English Aviator John Grierson is a memoir documenting his pioneering 8,800 mile flight across the Soviet Union to Samarkand in 1932. Grierson flew a De Havilland Gipsy Moth bi-plane names Rouge et Noir, making it the first foreign touring flight allowed in the Soviet Union at that time. Our copy is also complete with its dust jacket, although worn with pieces missing. The black cloth boards are a little bumped although in very good condition. The pages are clean despite scattered foxing and illustrated with several black and white photographic plates. pp. xiii + 174. A scarce copy and a lovely addition to any aviation library.
