Sir George Cayley was the first to seperate the concept of lift from propulsion, moving away from the idea of flapping wings to fixed wings designs. This copy is complete with its dust jacket. The dust jacket shows a little edge wear while underneath the black cloth boards are in very good condition. Ex-libris and presentation label to the front endpapers otherwise a very good clean copy. Illustrated with several diagrams and photographic plates. pp. xviii + 277. A very good addition to any aviation library.
