A 1916 First Edition Copy with an inscription from the author to the front free endpaper. Written during World War I, the work provides a rare firsthand account of the rapid evolution of Russian aviation, focusing on the pioneering heavy aircraft of the era. Written in London during the Zeppelin raids, he dedicated it to the families of fallen British aviators. This copy is bound in the publisher's original green cloth with titles and insignia in black to the front. The binding is in very good condition; although the spine has a light lean and some fading, the cloth remains bright, clean, and shows hardly any wear. The pages are toned although clean and illustrated with several historic black and white photographic images. pp. xvi + 154 + 4. A rare and very collectable item, a must for any aviation enthusiast.
