A 1932 First Edition copy of David Garnett's detailed and evocative memoir of his time learning to fly. The book was developed from notes in a diary Garnett kept over two years while training to pilot aeroplanes. This copy is complete with its' dust jacket, although worn with large pieces missing. The marbled cloth boards underneath show light fading altough clean and in good condition. This copy is littered with signatures from the author and various people but we believe these are forged, as all are written in the same hand. The pages, otherwise are clean, with a few pages showing small closed tears and bumping along the base. pp. ix 117. Overall a good copy. Part of a huge aviation collection just acquired by St Marys Books.
