Written by Colonel James Saxon Childers, this is an acount of the American volunteer pilots who served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) durimg the early years of World War II. Specifically focusing on No. 71 Eagle Squadron, the book provides a unique, informal perspective because Childers lived with the pilots while the war was still ongoing. This copy has an inscription for Ray Baxter, posssibly Raymond Baxter, a Tomorrow's World presenter, with Best Wishes from, T.M. Gray. Both flew together in the Royal Air Force during World War II, in No. 602 Squadron. This copy has a faded dust jacket with tape repair underneath. The blue cloth boards are bright and clean and show minimal wear while the pages are free of any marks or foxing and illustrated with several photographs. pp. xii + 369. Overall a good copy. An ideal addition for any aviation library.
