Ltd. the book serves as an important primary record documenting how the frontline port town, navigated the home front and naval responsibilities during World War I. This copy is quarter bound in cream paper with grey paper covered sides. There is small paper title band to the spine. The boards are lightly bumped at the corners and spine, however, the binding remains quite clean and in good condition. Internally the text block is tight and the pages are clean, illustrated with several photographs and a folding map. pp. 131. A scarce title with this copy signed by the publisher to the front free endpaper.
