Some of the Few is a historical military aviation book, celebrated for documenting the lives of the Royal Air Force fighter pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain during World War II, famously referred to by Winston Churchill as "The Few". This copy is signed by the author to the front free endpaper. Bound with pictorial laminated boards, the boards are a little discoloured with light lifting of the laminate. There is a pictorial label to the front free endpaper and the very occasional spot of foxing throughout. The pages however, are generally very clean, illustrated with portraits by Cuthbert Orde. pp. 60. Overall a good copy, with the added interest of the author's signature. Part of a huge aviation collection acquired by St Marys Books.
