Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Lewis Carroll

Edition: First Edition Thus

Illustrated By: Peter Newell

Published By: Harper and Brothers Publishers

St Mary's Books is incredibly proud to present this 1901 First Edition Thus of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll with illustrations by Peter Newell. Housed in its original green paper dustjacket with gold gilt lettering and a charming illustration of Alice in the bottom corner, this hardback book is bound in cream paper. Inside, one finds i-xvii and 193 pages of text decorated with ornate green ink borders. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to Lewis Carroll's classic tale of a tumble down a Rabbit Hole, where Alice finds herself in the whimsical world of Wonderland, supplemented by Peter Newell's eccentric illustrations, the reader finds themselves, like Alice, immersed among bizarre characters in a nonsensical world. This copy is in very good condition - though the original dustjacket has yellowed with age and been repaired, it remains remarkably well preserved, the same goes for the book itself which has few notable blemishes other than some minor bumping to the edges. Similarly, the interior of this copy is remarkably bright, clean and readable. "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is looking for a new home where it might be similarly preserved and appreciated.
