The Future of Aviation written by French author Jean Dargon is an historical text that famously predicted the post World War I transition of aviation from a military weapon into a commercial and industrial superpower. Originally translated from the French by Philip Nutt with a preface by M. Etienne Lamy. Published in 1919, by David Nutt and complete with its dust jacket. Underneath lie burgundy cloth boards with printed titles in black to the front and spine. The book is illustrated by several diagrams, black and white photographs and a folding map. Overall the book is in good condition. There is slight bumping to the corners, and a small dent to the front cover, otherwise the binding is clean and shows very little other wear. The pages are remarkably clean throughout, given the book's age. The dust jacket has discoloured with wear and chipping to the extremities, and the underside has been crudely reinforced with white paper. pp. xxi + 174. A scarce title and part of a huge aviation collection acquired by St Mary's Books.
