A prominent 1938 biography written by Winifred Loraine that details the extraordinary, multi faceted life of her late husband, Robert "Bobbie" Bilcliffe Loraine. he achieved success in three distinct fields. he bagn hs career on the English provinial stage in the 1889, becoming a popular leading man in London's West End. Loraine took up flying in 1909 and made the first aeroplane flight from England to Ireland in 1910. he fought in the Second Boer War and was in the Royl Flying Corps during World War I. This fascinating biography was published in 1938 and is complete with its' dust jacket. The dust jacket does show some wear, with chipping to the extremities. There has been an attempt at repair to the underside. The navy cloth boards are in good condition, light discolouration to the rear. The pages are clean with the occasional sot of foxing throughout. The text enhanced by several black and white photographs. pp. 390. A loving tribute to an astonishing man.
